Orlando AlancastroOrlando Alancastro is the Vice President of Transmission at the Orlando Utilities Commission (OUC—The Reliable One), the 14th largest public power utility in the United States. He oversees the planning, engineering, construction, operations and maintenance, operational technology and administration of OUC’s electric transmission and electric substations.

Alancastro began his career at OUC in 2002 as an electrical engineer and advanced to the positions of Sr. Distribution Planning Engineer, Manager of Electric Engineering, Manager of System Operations, Director of Contract, Finance & Project Management, and Director of Distribution Engineering. In 2020, he transitioned to Power Grid Engineering, a subsidiary of Qualus Power Services, where he assumed the role of Vice President of Project Management. He returned to OUC in 2022, taking on the role of Director of Energy Services and Contract Management. In this position, he oversaw the operations of OUC’s non-traditional business lines and provided support to various business units within Operations.

His community involvement includes serving on the board of directors for the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Florida, CareerSource of Central Florida Board, Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Metro Orlando and Electrical Council of Florida-Central Chapter, as well as the regional board for Prospera.

Alancastro holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Central Florida and a Master of Business Administration from the Crummer Graduate School of Business at Rollins College.
